So far only 2 Avengers movies have been released Avengers Assemble and more recently Avengers: age of Ultron. There are other movies scheduled for the Avengers franchise like Avengers infinity wars part 1 and part 2.

This post will be mainly focused on giving you a brief explanation on the movies in the Avengers franchise.

Avengers Assemble

Overview:

After the Tesseract (one of the infinity gems) was stolen by Thor’s(an Asgardian prince) evil brother Loki, S.H.I.E.L.Ds(international counter terrorism and espionage unit) director Nick Fury decides he needs to assemble “earth’s mightiest heroes. Tony Stark (Iron man), Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black widow. But (expectedly) this doesn’t go so well, as we are shown the god of thunder (Thor) battling it out with Iron man before they are even asked to be a team. They realise this brawl allowed Loki to slip away. Now Loki armed with his new powers opens a portal and uses an army of Chitauri (an alien race) to declare war on earth. Using team work, and a heroic bit of self-sacrifice from Tony Stark(he pushes the rocket through the portal with himself still attached to it), they defeat the monstrous aliens and save the earth, setting us up for more adventures to come.

Allies: Pepper Potts (his love), Rhodey Rhodes (his best friend), Jarvis (an A.I created by Tony Stark)

Arch nemesis: Mandarin

Origin: captured by terrorists after bomb blew up and left shrapnel in his body. Helped back to health by fellow captor Yinsen. They secretly build an armoured suit and plan to escape. This inspires Tony, when he returns home, to build a new and improved iron suit.

Captain America

Identity: Steven Rogers

Ability: strength, reflexes, speed

Allies: Bucky (his best friend), Sam Wilson (S.H.I.E.L.D trainee), Maria Hill (member of S.H.I.E.L.D)

Arch nemesis: Red skull

Origin: joined the army during the war. Volunteered to try out a new super soldier serum developed to give America and edge in the war. But he was treated as a joke and rather than fighting in war he was used as advertisement for the war. He went to rescue Bucky and the rest of the platoon and to defeat the Red Skull. He flew a plane containing bombs into the artic supposedly killing him. Rescued from the ice years later in the 21^st century by S.H.I.E.L.D.

Hulk

Identity: Bruce Banner

Abilities: super strength, super speed, super jumping, durability.

Allies: N/A

Arch nemesis: Leader

Origin: after an explosion at his lab he was hit with gamma rays. Now during times of stress he turn into a big green beast and fights between man or monster. He stays mostly isolated as he fears he cannot control the beast and it may cause too much harm toward people.

Thor

Identity: Thor Odinson

Abilities: can control lightning, wields Mjolnir

Allies: Odin(all-father), Heimdall(guardian of the rainbow bridge), warriors three(Asgardian warriors)

Arch nemesis: Loki

Origin: Thor was born as the son of Odin alongside his half-brother Loki adopted by Odin. He grew to be the Prince of Asgard and uses his hammer Mjolnir and his storm powers to protect the nine realms but more importantly Asgard and Midgard (earth).

Hawkeye

Identity: Clint Barton

Abilities: incredibly accurate marksmanship, acrobats

Allies: Black widow(spy best friend), Nick Fury(director of S.H.I.E.L.D)

Arch nemesis: circus of crime

Origin: Clint was an orphan with his brother. They both ran away to join the circus. He was trained by Swordsman and Tickshot. He later found out that Swordsman was a criminal. His brother believing that he should have joined Swordsman left him. He then went solo and once witnessed Iron Man saving people at a carnival. He met Black widow (a villain working for her country at the time). He later joined the avengers.

Black widow

Identity: Natasha Romanova

Abilities: spy training, acrobatics, intelligence

Allies: Hawkeye(best friend), Nick Fury(director of S.H.I.E.L.D)

Arch nemesis: N/A

Origin: Natasha was orphaned as a child and was taken in by Ivan Petrovitch. She grew up with skills that were spotted by the soviet intelligence and was trained by them. She was recruited for the Black Widow program. After resisting her leaders she left Russia and started a life in America with the help of Nick Fury and did solo jobs for S.H.I.E.L.D as well as part time with the Avengers.

Loki

Identity: Loki Laufeyson

Abilities: sorcery, illusions, trickery

Allies: no specific allies

Arch nemesis: Thor

Origin: Loki was born as the child of the Frost Giant Laufey. His father had hidden him due to the embarrassment of Loki’s size. After Odin had killed Laufey he found Loki and decided to adopt him as a son alongside his biological son Thor. Loki grew up as the smart son while Thor grew up as the strong son. Loki felt as though Odin preferred Thor over him and was envious of Thor. He would repeatedly try to destroy Thor.

Avengers

Overview:

Age of Ultron starts off with the whole team fighting Hydra agents to get the Chitauri sceptre which contains the mind stone (one of the infinity stones). They capture it after taking a beating from the twins, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, two of Struckers experiments. However Tony and Bruce decide that they want to build Ultron a guardian for Earth. This goes wrong when Ultron comes to life and kills Jarvis. He then attacks the avengers during a party. This results in some distrust in the team. Ultron runs off and recruits Pietro and Wanda Maximoff. He uses the mind stone to build himself a new and upgraded body. The avengers intercept him and he is forced to pause his transfer. After the avengers take back the mind stone still contained in the new body Ultron originally wanted to be transferred to. Tony and Bruce decide again to try and build Ultron. Cap convinces Pietro and Wanda to join them to stop Ultron they agree to him after Wanda saw into Ultron’s mind and saw the destruction he would cause. Cap learns of Tony and Bruce’s plans and tries to stop them but this only results in a fight between Tony, Bruce, Hawkeye and the Captain, Pietro, Wanda. Thor interrupts them and brings the creature to life later known as Vision. They team up and attack the base were Ultron is and free Black Widow. During their fight Pietro dies while saving Hawkeye. Vision and Ultron share a couple of words before Vision kills him.

They were recruited by Hydra to be used to test the Chitauri’s sceptre. The sceptre gave her the power of sorcery and manipulation.

Quicksilver

Identity: Pietro Maximoff

Abilities: super speed

Allies: Scarlet Witch, Avengers

Arch nemesis: N/A

Origin: he was born alongside his twin sister Wanda. After their home was attacked killing their parents they swore revenge on Tony Stark as the bombs were the property of stark industries. They were recruited by Hydra to be used to test the Chitauri’s sceptre. The sceptre gave him the power of super speed.

Vision

Identity: Vision

Abilities: mind stone, fire infrared rays

Allies: Avengers

Arch nemesis: Ultron

Origin: created by Ultron as a way of improving himself. Vision was then kidnapped by the avengers and starting splitting the team before he even came to life. Tony wanted to rectify his mistake of creating Ultron by creating Ultron 2 who would be good and not evil. Whereas the Captain thought it was a risk and he may end up like Ultron. Thor finally gave life to the android later becoming vision.

Ultron

Identity: Ultron

Abilities: durability, super strength, weapons

Allies: N/A

Arch nemesis: Avengers

Origin: Ultron was created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in secret using the Chitauri sceptre containing the mind stone. He was originally built for peace and protecting the earth from attacks but once his conscience came to life he hacked into Starks systems and gained control of his suits. He then pledges a war on the Avengers.

After the avengers take back the mind stone still in the new body Ultron originally wanted to be moved to. Tony and Bruce decide again to try and build Ultron. Cap make Pietro and Wanda to join them to stop Ultron they agree to him after Wanda saw into Ultron’s mind and saw the damage he would cause. Cap learns of Tony and Bruce’s plans and tries to stop them but this only results in a fight between Tony, Bruce, Hawkeye and the Captain, Pietro, Wanda. They team up and attack the base were Ultron is and free Black Widow. During their fight Pietro dies while saving Hawkeye. Vision and Ultron share a couple of words before Vision kills him.

Origin: captured by terrorists after bomb blew up and left shrapnel in his body. Helped back to health by fellow captor Yinsen. They secretly build an armoured suit and plan to escape. This inspires Tony, when he returns home, to build a new and improved iron suit.

Captain America

Identity: Steven Rogers

Ability: strength, reflexes, speed

Allies: Bucky (his best friend), Sam Wilson (S.H.I.E.L.D trainee), Maria Hill (member of S.H.I.E.L.D)

Arch nemesis: Red skull

Origin: joined the army during the war. Volunteered to try out a new super soldier serum developed to give America and edge in the war. But he was treated as a joke and rather than fighting in war he was used as advertisement for the war. He went to rescue Bucky and the rest of the platoon and to defeat the Red Skull. He flew a plane containing bombs into the artic supposedly killing him. Rescued from the ice years later in the 21^st century by S.H.I.E.L.D.

Hulk

Identity: Bruce Banner

Abilities: super strength, super speed, super jumping, durability.

Allies: N/A

Arch nemesis: Leader

Origin: after an explosion at his lab he was hit with gamma rays. Now during times of stress he turn into a big green beast and fights between man or monster. He stays mostly isolated as he fears he cannot control the beast and it may cause too much harm toward people.

Thor

Identity: Thor Odinson

Abilities: can control lightning, wields Mjolnir

Allies: Odin(all-father), Heimdall(guardian of the rainbow bridge), warriors three(Asgardian warriors)

Arch nemesis: Loki

Origin: Thor was born as the son of Odin alongside his half-brother Loki adopted by Odin. He grew to be the Prince of Asgard and uses his hammer Mjolnir and his storm powers to protect the nine realms but more importantly Asgard and Midgard (earth).

Hawkeye

Identity: Clint Barton

Abilities: incredibly accurate marksmanship, acrobats

Allies: Black widow(spy best friend), Nick Fury(director of S.H.I.E.L.D)

Arch nemesis: circus of crime

Origin: Clint was an orphan with his brother. They both ran away to join the circus. He was trained by Swordsman and Tickshot. He later found out that Swordsman was a criminal. His brother believing that he should have joined Swordsman left him. He then went solo and once witnessed Iron Man saving people at a carnival. He met Black widow (a villain working for her country at the time). He later joined the avengers.

Black widow

Identity: Natasha Romanova

Abilities: spy training, acrobatics, intelligence

Allies: Hawkeye(best friend), Nick Fury(director of S.H.I.E.L.D)

Arch nemesis: N/A

Origin: Natasha was orphaned as a child and was taken in by Ivan Petrovitch. She grew up with skills that were spotted by the soviet intelligence and was trained by them. She was recruited for the Black Widow program. After resisting her leaders she left Russia and started a life in America with the help of Nick Fury and did solo jobs for S.H.I.E.L.D as well as part time with the Avengers.

Scarlet Witch

Identity: Wanda Maximoff

Abilities: sorcery, reality manipulation

Allies: Quicksilver (twin brother), Avengers

Abilities: mind stone, fire infrared rays

Origin: created by Ultron as a way of improving himself. Vision was then kidnapped by the avengers because his body contained the mind stone and starting splitting the team before he even came to life. Tony wanted to rectify his mistake of creating Ultron by creating Ultron 2 who would be good and not evil. Whereas the Captain thought it was a risk and he may end up like Ultron. Thor finally gave life to the android later becoming vision.

Origin: Ultron was created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in secret because they hadn’t asked for Thor’s permission, using the Chitauri sceptre containing the mind stone. He was originally built for peace and protecting the earth from attacks but once his conscience came to life he hacked into Starks systems and gained control of his suits. He then pledges a war on the Avengers.

My research into digital publishing helped me in many areas and helped me to improve my work. Due to the research I conducted I decided to write an informal and formal style work. This is because in the articles I researched I found that they don’t make the article completely formal because this may look too boring and at the same time they don’t make it completely informal as this may look childish and unprofessional. So I decided to make parts of my article formal and others informal. In the articles I researched I found that the text would be separated depending on the topic and I decided this would be a good layout for my article and I separated the article depending on the movie. In my research I also found that the use of images is very popular as it makes the article look more attractive to a reader and they are more likely to pick an article with images over one without. I then made the choice to add a lot of images representing a certain paragraph or section.

I used a lot of feedback to improve my work. A teacher feedback i considered was that writing one article on Marvel and the other on DC would be complicated and I would either have to write a biased article or write two article on two different Marvel products instead. I decided that this advice would be useful and changed my initial idea. Another piece of feedback by a peer who said I should add interviews in my article. At first I thought that it was a good idea however when I started interviewing people I found that the feedbacks were similar and uninspired so I decided to add a comments option at the bottom of the page so people can tell me their opinion instead.

I followed most of the thing I planned in pre-production. The pre-production helped me stay on task and organise when I would do what tasks and when I should finish the tasks. I tried my best to stay within the time limit I had set myself but I did go over the time limit however I did manage to complete everything on time. In the pre-production I also planned what I would need for my work however this was complicated because some of the material I needed were not available and this meant that I would have to compromise for some of my work.

In Photoshop I used a lot of the plaster tool which is used to clear and bruises, cuts and spots. This was a very helpful tool as it made my work look clearer and cleaner. I also used the crop tool as some of my images had some things in the background that I didn’t want in the picture. I also used the crop tool to make some images smaller because they took up too much space on by website. I experimented with the magic wand tool. This tool is used to remove some areas and does it automatically rather than having you select bit by bit. I thought of using this tool because I could use it to remove the background in my image.

After I took my images I needed to take them off the camera then save it onto a file on my computer because the camera was borrowed and if I left it on the camera then someone may delete it and I will not be able to use them again. I also backed it up by saving it on my memory stick as well. When I wrote up my article I saved them as a word file as this was the best program for a written article. All the hand written notes I did were kept in a file just for journalism because this would prevent it from getting lost or being mixed with other coursework.
